Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026: 9 Things I'm Waiting to Buy
Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026: 9 Things I’m Waiting to
Buy
My personal Amazon
sale wishlist — and the prices I’m hoping to see
I have a small problem with Amazon sales. I go in looking
for one thing. And somehow, 20 minutes later, I'm comparing things I wasn't
even planning to buy.
This time, though, I actually have a list.
The Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026 starts on October 8,
and some Early Deals are already live. Amazon is also offering an instant 10%
discount on eligible SBI Credit/Debit Card and EMI transactions. Prime members
get additional benefits too.
So instead of opening Amazon on October 8 and randomly
scrolling through thousands of offers, I decided to make my own wishlist
beforehand.
These are nine things I'm currently watching. Some are
useful purchases. Some are things I've been postponing. And one of them is
simply something I want.
1. The Game Controller I've
Been Putting Off Buying
I already have a PC, but I don't have a proper game controller. I've mostly managed
without one, but there are games where sitting at a keyboard and mouse just
doesn't feel right.
I want something comfortable, reliable and properly
compatible with a Windows PC. I'm not looking for an expensive professional game controller either. If the right
one gets a meaningful price cut during the sale, I might finally stop
postponing this purchase.

2. The Soundbar That Could
Finally Replace My TV Speakers
My TV speakers do their job, but that's about it. Dialogue
can sometimes feel flat, and I wouldn't mind having a little more bass when
watching movies.
I'm looking for a simple soundbar rather than a full
home-theatre setup. HDMI ARC/eARC, Bluetooth, clear dialogue and easy setup are
the things I'm mainly interested in.

3. A Wireless CCTV Camera for
Home
This is one of those purchases where I don't want to
experiment too much. I want a wireless
camera that gives me a good view, useful night vision, motion detection and
two-way audio without making the whole setup complicated.
I'll also be looking at local storage, cloud options and,
importantly, the reliability of the mobile app. A cheap camera isn't
particularly useful if the app keeps disconnecting when I actually need to
check it.

4. A Kitchen Chimney — Because
This One Actually Needs Replacing
Unlike some things on this list, a kitchen chimney isn't really a 'maybe
I'll buy it if there's a huge discount' item. It is something I actually need
to replace.
For this one, I'm more interested in practical
specifications than a huge discount percentage: suction capacity, size, filter
design, auto-cleaning, noise, installation and warranty.

5. A Walking Pad — Because I
Want to Walk Without Going Outside
This one is personal. I want to walk more, but
living in NCR makes outdoor walking unreliable—pollution, weather, or just not
wanting to step out after a long day.
A walking
pad lets me walk while watching something or even working. I want something
compact and quiet enough to use indoors.
I've found one that seems practical.

I'm realistic about this. It won't replace
proper exercise. But if it gets me walking an hour a day instead of sitting,
that's a win.
6. A Portable SSD — Because My
Storage Is Never Enough
Storage has a funny way of disappearing. Photos, videos,
documents and large files keep accumulating, and having a fast external drive
is becoming more useful.
I'm mainly looking at a 1TB portable SSD with USB-C, good
transfer speeds, a compact design and a reliable warranty.

7. A Dashcam — The Car
Accessory I Actually Want
A dashcam is one
of those car accessories you hope you never need — but when you do need
footage, you really want it to have been recording properly.
I'm more interested in reliable recording, decent night
footage, useful storage support and parking-mode functionality than simply
chasing the highest resolution number on the box.

8. A Water-Softener Shower Head
— Does It Actually Make a Difference?
I live in Noida, and the water here is
genuinely bad. It's hard water—high in calcium and magnesium—and it does a
number on your skin and hair over time.
Dermatologists explain it simply: when hard
water mixes with soap, it leaves a residue that makes skin drier and hair
rougher. The minerals build up on the hair shaft and scalp, and for people with
sensitive skin or scalp conditions, it makes things worse. Noida's groundwater
is classified as "hard" to "very hard," with some areas
reporting hardness levels far above the permissible limit.
So, I've been thinking about a full-house water
softener. But before spending that kind of money, I want to test the concept
first. A shower head with a built-in filter cartridge is a cheap way to see if
softer water actually makes a difference for my skin and hair.
I'm not expecting miracles. Most shower filters
reduce chlorine and some hardness minerals, but they're not a replacement for a
proper softener. This is an experiment—a ₹2000-400 test before a ₹70,000+
decision.

9. A Casio Edifice — This One
Is Just for Me
And then there's the Casio Edifice.
No complicated calculation here. I simply like Edifice
watches. I don't particularly need another watch, but sometimes a shopping list
can contain one thing that is there purely because you want it.
If the model I'm watching gets a price that feels reasonable
during the sale, I may finally give in.

eyeing]
So, What Will I Actually Buy?
That's the interesting part. Having nine things on a wishlist
doesn't mean I'm going to buy nine things.
My priorities are different. The kitchen chimney is a practical replacement.
The SSD, CCTV camera and walking pad could be genuinely useful. The controller,
soundbar and dashcam are things I've been considering for a while. And the
Casio Edifice? That's the easy one to explain — I just like it.
I'll probably decide based on the actual price on the day rather than the
percentage discount displayed on Amazon.
Amazon's Rufus shopping assistant can also show 30–90 day price history for
products and can help with target-price alerts, which is useful when trying to
figure out whether a sale price is actually interesting.
The 50% OFF Trick I'm Trying Not to Fall For
A large discount number is tempting. But if I wasn't
planning to buy the product, spending ₹2,000 after a 50% discount isn't saving
₹2,000 — I'm still spending ₹2,000.
So this year I'm trying a simple rule: compare the current price, check the
recent price history where available, and ask myself whether I wanted the
product before seeing the discount.
If the answer is no, I'll probably leave it.
