How to Search the Best Car to Purchase in Resale
I have lot of friends who buy cars in hurry and do not want
to explore much in market. They talk directly to Car showrooms and purchase the
cars. I have talked to them about it and gave them idea of buying cars in
resale but all of them say that they don’t have much time for that. Buying a
car in resale needs your time as well your effort but hell yes! It saves you a
lot of money.
Let’s explore the steps of finalizing your car and buying in
resale.
First of all one should be very clear that what type of car
he wants to buy. These days the major hurdle in big cities is to choose between
Petrol/ Diesel/ CNG cars. For this you can always visit my blog posts:
Now that if you are clear then you can start your search on
different platforms like Olx.in, Carwale.com, Cardekho.com, droom.in et cetera.
There will be thousands of cars in which you will be interested but narrowing
your search will help you save time. Narrow your search in following
parameters:
1.
Nearby your location: Personally I feel
that if you get a car in resale in 5km radius of your location, you should go
to check that car first forgetting the amount of money the seller is asking.
2.
Near your friends location: You can try
looking on other locations only if you are not able to find your favourite car as
per point 1. Always try to find the car near you good friend’s location whom
you trust.
3.
Recommended Car Dealers: If any of your
friend has purchased a car from any car dealer and your friend is happy after the
purchase, do try that dealer. Do not trust him but once you should visit his
office.
4.
Budget: Fix your budget and look for the
cars nearly 10-15% higher than your budget to have some window of negotiations.
5.
Explore for other cars: There are chances
that you may forget to look for better cars because of have made up your mind
to purchase a certain car. Look for other cars after fixing your budgets. For
example, a Suzuki Swift of year 2015 and a Hyundai Verna of 2014 will cost same
depending upon the condition of the cars.
6.
Talk: If you have narrowed down to a
particular car, talk to your known people about the type of area and the people
living in that area. You may get to know a contact know to your seller which
may finally benefit you.
All this exercise will take very less time and can be done
in office, while travelling to your work place (not driving obviously) ,
sitting idle at home, during ad breaks on TV and during any time of day if you
seriously want to purchase a car in resale and save money out of it. You can go
to resale dealers like Mahindra Choice and True Value directly but cars there
will be costly because of their commission.
